Right after I got my undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Communications at the University of Washington, I stayed in academia to research the fundamental question, “Why don’t girls do math?” As much as I loved contributing to the scholarly work in gender equality, I yearned for making more concrete differences in people’s lives.​​

 

I knew that I had to interweave my theoretical knowledge with hands-on application, so I decided to pursue a master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University to truly satisfy my passion to understand, interact with, and serve people.
